Maybe that’s why in rise of the guardians he didn’t really want to be a guardian at first because he had spent Rapunzel’s whole life sitting there falling in love with her even when she met Flynn and broke his heart he stayed with her even when she got old, he was there when she was getting married, he was there next to her death bed, he was there for everything the only thing though is that he didn’t know how to make her see him, but he had fallen in love with her anyways. he loved her with all his heart and when she died he decided that the hurt was too much to ever bear again so he decided that he was just “snowballs and fun time” so he could never get hurt again
